Thames Path Walk: Putney to Richmond

  • Oct 27, 2012 · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

This is an 8 mile walk over entirely flat ground. Most of the walk is over paved paths with a few dirt tracks so trainers or comfortable footwear should be fine for this walk. This walk is graded as 2/10.

Join us for a lazy Saturday walk along the Thames with beautiful river views. We'll start at Putney Bridge tube station and head West along the Thames path.

Along the way we'll pass beautiful landscaped gardens, gorgeous riverside pubs and some amazing historic architecture.

We'll stop at the Ship pub at Mortlake for lunch (although feel free to bring a packed lunch) famous for being the end point of the Oxford / Cambridge boat race.

Once suitably refreshed we'll continue on to the the very upmarket borough of Richmond where we'll finish the walk by having a drink in one of the many riverside pubs

We'll meet at Putney Bridge tube station at 10am and leave at 10.15 sharp. As this entire walk is within the London Travel card area there will be no up front charge for train fares.

  • At least one litre of water (preferably two)
  • A packed lunch
  • Money for refreshments before / after the walk.

The cost of for the day is £3 which includes Paypal fees and a guided hike. There are no train fares for this walk which is reflected in the cost.

By RSVP'ing for this walk I agree to the terms and conditions listed at the following link http://www.meetup.com/All-Seasons-Hiking/pages/Terms_and_Conditions/

    Hi Glen,

Random question, but will we be crossing the river at Putney. I can get a train that gets in at Putney on the dot of 10am, but would then have to dash across the bridge to get to putney bridge train station for 10.15. however if the walk is along the south side of the river I could just wit for you at the south side of the bridge! does that make sense?

Hi Claire, we'll be starting from the opposite side of the bridge from the train station but we can wait for you. Can you message me your mobile number privately?

The calendar says Saturday, but the blurb under the "walk" says "Join us for a lazy Sunday walk along the Thames with beautiful river views...."
