This date is now full but you can book onto the next tour and afternoon tea here: http://www.meetup.com/FillMyWeekend/events/222005184/
Ever wanted to find out what it's like inside Britain's most famous building? Or even more exclusively, sit on the terrace outside and enjoy a refreshing tea and meal?
In areas usually reserved for Members of Parliament, Lords and HM the Queen you can see between the scenes areas with our official tour guide. Following this we will enjoy something even more special: Afternoon tea (tea/coffee, sandwiches and cakes/scones) on the riverside terrace which everyone sees and almost no one gets to visit!
What does the tour cover?
On the tour you will see many areas including the: Queen's Robing Room, Royal Gallery, Prince’s Chamber, Lords Chamber, Moses Room, Central Lobby, Members’ Lobby, Aye Lobby, Commons Chamber, St Stephen’s Hall and Westminster Hall...
An expert 'Blue Badge' guide accompanies you throughout this 90 minute tour through the House of Lords and House of Commons. The tour takes approximately 90 minutes.
The Afternoon Tea...
"This table service afternoon tea is taken in the elegant surroundings of the Terrace Pavilion in the House of Commons. This room provides fine views over the River Thames.
Parliament’s chefs have created a tempting seasonal menu of savouries and sweets which combines tradition with a modern twist. Beverages are a selection of loose teas or freshly brewed coffee.
Vegetarian and gluten-free diets can be accommodated. Please request these when booking. Unfortunately this afternoon tea offer is not suitable for those requiring a dairy-free diet."
