Like many things, the creation of soap is thought to have been discovered by accident nearly 5,000 years ago. A lot of soap makers have developed their own approach over the millennia, but the basic principles have remained the same.
In this introductory Cold Process Soap making workshop, you will learn all about the history of soap making, learn how to create your own recipe, where to order supplies from, what supplies you'll need (many things you may find you already have lying around the kitchen) and how to make cold process soap. You will even walk away with a few bars of your own. As a bonus, you will also be given a brief overview into how you can make your own sunscreen.
Everything is provided, just show up ready to learn.
Neighborhood: Bedstuy, Brooklyn, NY.
Time: April 5th, 10 am - 1 pm.
