Holiday Hackathon 2012

This is a duplication of the DocType event posted here:

Given 24 hours and a blank screen, what can you code? Join local web development professionals in an informal challenge to build something new. We'll kickoff Friday, December 14th at 6pm, with teaming up and laying out the challenge, Saturday at 6pm we'll showcase the results. Use whatever time you can in-between - Room to Think will be open all night - to make something that works. Collaboration on GitHub and ability to publicly host the prototype is encouraged, but not required. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow programmers, build skills, and have fun!

  • Developers & Designers of any skill-level welcome
  • Food & Refreshment will be generously provided by &yet: Dinner on Friday, breakfast & lunch on Saturday

Special &! Challenge

In celebration of the release of the 2.0 API for &! (AndBang), &yet has issued a special developer challenge for the participants of the hackathon: Build something using the brand new API and the best entry will win a prize!

Thank you very much to &yet!

Adam suggests some possibilities for building an app in &! 2.0's API:

    - mechanical turk for your team
    - scheduled, recurring tasks
    - command line client
    - todo list text file watcher
    - GitHub commit and issue notifications in chat
    - team dashboard (in fact, Henrik just wrote an article for .net Magazine with a tutorial and sample app for doing this, which he and I built in a few hours)

    Oh, the possibilities!
