I don't know if true posthumans would look terribly much like humans
in any respect. Their motivations may be extraordinarily different.

Forever seems unlikely. Current research seems to indicate that only a
finite amount of matter and energy is accessible to an agent that
can't exceed the speed of light. It also appears that only a finite
amount of computation is possible to such an agent, though that is
less well established. That said, I'll happily take a thousand years
or even 200 years over 100, and in the unlikely event that I can
manage a billion or two I won't say no.
