Gainesville Area Barter

We will be hosting the next barter event on June 21st, 2014 at Highland Presbyterian Church. Setup starts at 12:00 noon and the event runs from 1-4pm. We will have the use of the portico for shade. Tables will be made available as well as restrooms. All items are acceptable. Think outside the box. We have many talented people in our community and you never know what item can be repurposed. If you have large items you can leave them in your vehicle and show them there. We are a network for trading goods and services within the local community. We are building stronger networks between people and helping to build a more self-sufficient community. Let’s go beyond seeds and plants and grow this barter event into a true barter event. Please help promote this barter event by sharing with and inviting your friends to the event.

Good turnout. I actually traded too. This one indicated what people are looking for. In this group, mainly plants. at least that is what I gathered. I like the posts of what folks are wanting.

Thanks to all the folks who came out to barter. This event is getting better and bigger each time we meet. All items but livestock and firearms are welcome. Remember we meet each 3rd Saturday of the month.

I need: A. Weather safe shelving, B. grow mats, C. a moisture meter, D. succulent potting mix, E. decorative pots for succulents that have drainage holes, F. gravel (like fish tank or pebbles, or charcoal.) G. I can also use tea cups and saucers. They don't need to be a set and chipped is fine as I will use them to put miniature African violets in them. I have: A. 2 wooden Ladder back chairs with woven seats. B. Large and small bags of Elephant Compost. C. African Violet babies ready, a limited quantity. D. I have starts of Swiss Chard, Tom Thumb Lettuce, Butter Crunch Lettuce, Oregano and Purple Basil and a limited number of Moringa trees. Please let me know ahead of time if you are interested in any of these so that I bring them. E. I have one young long leaf pine tree.
