Community Preparedness and CERT forum

Hurricane season is upon us. Now is the time to prepare. Come and meet Ebbin Spellman, Emergency Management Coordinator/ Program Coordinator for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) of Alachua County . Ebbin has a wealth of information. This is the final opportunity to meet Ebbin before he moves out of our community. His lecture will be geared toward preparedness and coping with the aftermath of either a natural or man-made disaster. This is a great opportunity for our community and should not be missed. The floor will be open for questions and answers.

Biography ~ Ebbin Spellman
A native of Pensacola, Florida, Ebbin Spellman has been assigned as the Emergency Management Coordinator /Program Coordinator for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Alachua County.
He received his Bachelor of Science from The Nelson Mandela School of Urban Affairs at Southern University.
Ebbin has earned the credential of Certified Emergency Manager® (CEM®) from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). Internationally, there are only 1,538 other emergency management professionals who have received this prestigious certification. Mr. Spellman has been invited to the 62nd Annual IAEM Conference in San Antonio, Texas in November to be recognized for this achievement.
Ebbin has trained in Emergency Management Systems Operations at Texas A&M University and has served in various emergency response positions including Emergency Medical Technician, and the HAZMAT Response Team. As a Commissioner for the Human Relations Commission he was appointed to assist emergency response agencies in Escambia County during natural and man-made disasters and served as a board member on the Escambia County Expressway Authority Commission. While serving as an Industrial Firefighter, Ebbin was honored with the Firefighter of the Year 2005 award.

    Surprisingly good! 95% because of the speaker - Ebbin. Waaaay more cool stuff than I was expecting!
    The other 5% was the participation of the folks that attended! Wholey Moley - these are some very well prepared people.
    NOW, to get them to share all that know how with the rest of us!

    Lost one star 'cuz we should have filled the room.
