Permaculture - ˈpərməˌkəlCHər - noun:
The development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient.
The Wiki:

There is an avalanche of information about this ancient practice everywhere you turn. Food forests, perennial food crops, wild edibles, dedicated garden beds, Come to the 3rd Monday Meeting and hear our LOCAL experts on the methods and practices they use and bring the questions you’ve always wanted to ask. As Fall/Winter seed distributions get started in September this is a great time to learn about Permaculture and how you can begin to work it into your garden planning.

Andi Houston, owner and blogger of the Green Basket blog, – a manager at the Alachua County Farmers Market (hwy 441-Sat), and beginning the journey of establishing her own medicinal herb production farm. An early advocate of Permaculture techniques testing and utilizing them in her own city sized lot.

RAFFLE: We are very close to retiring the debt for the Laptop Projector! So, if you have something special (for an exclusive raffle) you’d like to donate – please feel free to list it here – or contact me via PM so we can make arrangements. And keep on bringing those wonderful plants, garden produce and handy garden things too! We’ve still got the rent ya know.

POT LUCK: Let’s make it Permaculture! I’m going to harvest and prepare some of those Smilax tips (Asparagus asparagoides). Let’s taste what’s in YOUR backyard! AGAIN – SHARE WIDELY – SHARE WIDELY

There is a lovely hand-powered mower ($5 ticket) up for raffle as well as a canning kit ($1 ticket) so far. If you'd like to pitch in something to help payoff the last of the projector cost, let us know.
