Hello all,

We had a great session yesterday with Jim Dunstan, Partner at Garvey Schubert Barer, on legal issues surrounding video games, massive multiplayer games, and virtual worlds. I urge all of you - if you are building a web based game of any kind that will use communications connectivity between players to consult an attorney. Truly astonishing the length of the legal arms of the FTC, FCC, and DoC. Jim, thank you for making us all smarter about what to watch out for and the solutions.

Our next meeting is going to take place on January 15th so save the date - we are going to take a real and virtual tour of and its university. This gathering is being "instigated" by Carl Symborski. Thank you, Carl. Details to follow so stay tuned!

Also, for Feb, I am putting together a program with the Institute for Politics Democracy and the Internet for a talk and showcase of games for advocacy. If you want to help out in the planning of this, and/or know of games or people we should include in the lineup, please email me at [address removed].

If you want to "instigate" a serious games meetup, let's do it. Contact me and we'll take it from there.

Have a great holiday season and I look forward to seeing y'all in 2009!
