VR Meetup #1 - The Beginning

This event is being put on by the Sacramento Virtual Reality Meetup make sure to join the meetup if you are interested in VR!



Pizza, and Soft Drinks will be provided courtesy of Matt Carrell.  Fist come first serve.

Presenters:

Ed Mason - Gameface Founder & CEO

Introduces his new hardware; Gameface a "wireless"  head mounted display (HMD).

Oliver Kreylos - UC Davis VR Research Professor

Leads VR research into multiple fields of industry from his VR lab at UC Davis. Info

Matt Carrell - Stompz foot controller

Stompz creator and co-host of PodVR will do a presentation on the new Stompz foot controller for VR.

Demo Session:

We will have multiple Oculus Rifts, Razer hydras and other hardware available for everyone to try out.  There will also be various games and applications available for everyone to experience.

If you have something you would like to demo or have something you'd like to show off, by all means bring it!  If anyone has a Rift they'd be willing to bring to demonstrate for those who've never experienced it, we would all be very appreciative if you would set it up at one of these Meetups and share it with the community.

Finally, for any Sacramento area locals that are interested in Virtual Reality and has something they would like to contribute or talk about for future Meetups please let us know and we can get you presentation time and exposure.

    I'm excited and ready to check it out! VR is really an enthusiasm for me. My Q & A's will be mainly on which game engines will the VR technology run on? Definitely a must attend meetup for me. :)

    I really want to see someone develop the technology to play video games in your sleep, or at least while you are resting or something to that extent.
