  • As we close out the end of the year, we wanted to make this particular game jam a little special. In addition to jamming as usual, feel free to bring something yummy to share with everyone. The entire team is invited. Let's celebrate all that we've accomplished together in 2016 and prepare for a kick ass year in 2017!

Planning has already began for the 2017 Sac Indie Arcade. We're only four months away =) If you have any questions on what stage you should be at with your development just let us know!

A game jam is a gathering of game developers for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games with in a short span of time, usually ranging between 24 and 72 hours. Game developers are generally made up of programmers, game designers, artists, and others in game development-related fields. The difference between a typical game jam and the progressive game jam is that teams will have 9 months to develop their game!

This is your opportunity to hone your skills and be a part of a dedicated team to make your game come true!

The goal: Present your demo or game at our next Sacramento Indie Arcade event in early April 2017. Is your true nerd ready?

What should I bring to the game jam if anything? I'm mostly interested in Level design and Game design but I have never been to a game jam.

Hi Grant. If you'd like to stay and collaborate with others, bring your computer or any materials you would use to develop your game.

Hey, I haven't participated in this game jam, or any game jam at all. Am I still allowed to poke my head in and see what folks are doing if I bring oreos? Really interested in learning to make games as a writer and artist.

Hola, Edric! While Oreos will be very, very welcomed by us nerds, nothing has to be brought in to check things out...especially if you're new to this. So, definitely come on by!
