Mini Game Jam

  • Feb 15, 2014 · 10:00 AM

You have always wanted to make a game but never found the right people? You're already making games in your day job but they take years to complete? Why not try something new?

Munich Indie is a loose collective of people in Munich, Germany who like to create games. We organize semi-regular (read: a handfull every year) 24-hour game jams. What is a game jam, you ask? "A game jam is an organized get-together with the intention of creating a full game – from conception to completion – in a pre-determined, short period of time."

That means if you want to work with other enthusiasts (professional game developers, students and hobbyists alike) on making something innovative in a very short time, then feel free to join us for the next jam. You should have some applicable skills (programming, 2D/3D art, audio, game design, writing) but do not have to be a master in any of these.

Check out http://www.munichindie.com/ if you want to check out some examples of the games that we made in game jams over the last few years.

This time we want to try a new concept: We will split the jam into two parts, the first day will start at 10 am and end around 10 pm, the second day will start at 10 am and end around 6 pm.

Could you please post a link to your game, too?

What I meant was "I'd like to play around with programming a rudimentary AI" :-)

Could you email me or post a link to the racing game? I'd like to play with a rudimentary AI.

I'm coming a little bit later, probably at 10:20-10:30. Just start without me.

I'm afraid I gotta bail on you this time. ): Not feeling 100% and I'm way behind my schedule. Hope you have a good time though!

There are several restaurants (Nachtkantine, an Asian restaurant, an Italian, a Wienerwald, ...) nearby and we can also order food.
No, technology is not fixed. We will form teams and afterwards each team will select their technology.

Regarding technology. Will we decide on the spot what technology/engine we will use, or has that been decided beforehand?

We will be in Werk1 Co-working space and have WiFi with internet access. We will use the back entrance (right next to TempleBar/Irish Pub). Please call me on my phone to enter.

Please bring all you need to work (laptop, mouse, power supply, graphic tablets, software, ...).
Please also think on something to drink and eat.

We will not provide any hardware or food.

    See you tomorrow!

Do we need to bring any materials, such as Laptops, IDEs, etc.?

Good news, we can work in Werk1. I think we will need to use the back entrance again right next to temple bar. Please call me (0174/[masked]) to open the door.

It is still unclear if we can work in Werk1. I might need to cancel... please check on Friday,
