Hi, Ceci (and Janice, and all):
?
I am totally interested, also, though I am more limited in time for meetings and projects right now, as I work full-time. This could be an awesome first project, expecially given the non-profit association *and* the opportunity to work with kids on it....
?
I am a (fairly) experienced gardener (thought it's always a learning process), a psychotherapist, and *very* interested in using gardening/horticulture in a therapeutic way with people. I would be thrilled to be be involved with this -- even in a limited way at first. I'm a native Pasadenan, so it's especially great to see this kind of interest locally. I am also involved with a group that is working to establish a community garden (or maybe multiple == gardens -- ) in the city, eventually. It would be great to meet like minded people.
?
Excitedly,
?
Maria

Ceci,
I am totally interested and ready to sign on to help with the space.? It sounds terrific.? Have already been getting plants together and have some perfect natives for shade:
???? Stachys bullata (hedge nettle) with a pretty lavender flower spikes and
???? Fragaria vesca (woodland strawberry) with white flowers and small tasty berries

Would love to see space and am free the times you are.? Looking forward to going with anyone else who is interested.

Have lots of gardening experience and have a mostly native garden that is a certified wildlife habitat.?

Thanks for getting this ball rolling.? looking forward to this.? Keep me posted!

Janice

(was late getting to first meeting and everyone was gone. Sorry to have missed meeting everyone)

Hey all!
?
Thanks for your responses.? I wasnt paying any attention to the meetup reminders, and I didnt even RSVP myself, so dont anyone worry.? Im just really happy that there is still interest.
I would love if people wanted to take a look at this potential garden space (with or without me) and get an idea of what we have to work with on this project.? Im free tuesday-friday untill 10am and theoretically wide open sat-mon.? So email me if you wanna?see the space this week.? If you're rearin' to go and those times dont work for you ill put you in touch with clifton over at the space.?
?
A little about the space:? It's basically a tiny court yard with walls on the south, west and east sides so it doesn't get a whole lot of sun.? When I asked what they were looking for in a garden the only parameters given were 'easy and colorful.'? I was thinking native flowers and herbs, drought tolerant, shade tolerant, etc.? However, as I told you all at the first meeting I dont actually know much about gardening so any knowledge of plants that fit that description would be very helpful.??Also,?beggars cant be choosers,?so ill be happy to plant pretty much anything we can get for free.
?
ok...thats that.??I wont be tooo pushy and try to set up another meeting right now, but if anyone else wants too, ill show up!
?
looking forward to gardening with you,
?
ceci
