Triangle Area Gay Scientists (TAGS) Pages

TAGS - the Best-Kept Secret in the Triangle for 30 Years!

Home, But Not Alone:

Since 1977, TAGS members have gathered for a potluck on the 2nd Saturday of each month in the homes of our members. Attendance varies according to the time of year, location, and random variables too numerous to mention. It's usually in Chapel Hill, Durham, or Raleigh, but TAGSters have hosted in Burlington, Lillington, and Faison.

When TAGS was formed, its members decided that, because other groups had political agendas, religious emphasis, or featured speakers, TAGS would be a social group with a focus on science.

TAGS is the first science-oriented gay and lesbian group in the nation. However, we have plenty of members from other professions and walks of life. TAGS is a watering hole where folks can convene on a regular basis, and a welcome wagon for newcomers to the Triangle.

TAGS has no officers, charter, or membership requirements other than an application and annual $30.00 dues to reimburse hosts, mail the newsletter and keep our meetup.com website. Many of our members are active in political and social action groups within the Triangle, the state, and the nation, but TAGS has no political agenda. Our cause is hospitality. Welcome to TAGS! Just fill out the application below:

TAGS members are a congenial and courteous group. As host, all you need to provide are cups, paper plates, plastic ware, some soft drinks and ice. Your guests bring the food! Can you host a TAGS potluck?

3. If you can host, what month(s) of the year work best for you? _________________
