- Focus on your code, not infrastructure with Google Cloud...
Title:Focus on your code, not infrastructure, with Google Cloud Functions Description: In this talk, we will follow the story of the fictional startup "In Jest", publishers of an app that tells jokes. At first, the developers at "In Jest" need to get a minimum viable product up and running in an hour. As their business grows they will have to integrate with Google Sheets, databases, analytics systems, marketing systems and so on. We will see the 100 lines of code needed to make this happen, without having to worry the team about servers and data centers. Martin Omander bio: Martin Omander works for Google in Mountain View, California. His job in the Developer Relations team is to help developers build better software, and improve Google's Cloud Platform to make it even better for that purpose. In his spare time he manages to sneak in some game programming. Before Google, Martin worked at string of startups in Silicon Valley as a software engineer. Zoe Omander: Zoe is 13 years old, an online student, guitar player and YouTuber. She is also Martin's daughter and will present together with him.

Come celebrate International Women's Day with Women TechMakers. There will be speed networking, a photo booth and a panel of women in tech speakers from all over LA. And of course swag and prizes. ======================= Networking: Prepare an elevator pitch for networking. You will only have a few minutes with each person, so make them count! Don't forget business cards! ======================== Security: Please have everyone register with their first and last name so that they can be on the list for security. If you are bringing a guest then message me with their name please. There is a security guard posted at the Hampton Dr gate from 5:30-7pm to grant you access into the event space. When guests arrive at BIN5 reception (320 Hampton Dr) there will be signage to direct down the block to the gate where security guard will be posted. ======================= Parking: Parking at LAX is very impacted and we're unable to accommodate for external guests during business hours. Fortunately, there are various off-site parking options for external guests that are all within 6 minutes walking distance of the office. I've provided a link below that will give more details on the options. I would also suggest using a ride share services like Uber and Lyft. The address to arrive to is 320 Hampton Dr. Venice, Ca[masked]http://bit.ly/googleLAeventparking ======================= Thank you and I'm so excited for this event!
