Dallas Android Developers is having its first ever coding challenge.
The challenge criteria itself will be announced at 6 p.m. at Bottle Rocket Apps on the day of the event. Everyone will write an app based on the same criteria. Apps must be turned in by 9:00 pm. The contest will be an individual exercise (no teams).
Judging will be arbitrary, hopefully fair, and weighting based on level of entrant expertise. Each contestant will be given two minutes to show their app and go over implemented features starting at the turn in deadline. Limited technical assistance will be available to help entrants past technical roadblocks.
A Galaxy Note 2 will be awarded to the winner. The prize was generously provided by Samsung. Samsung has some very exciting ways of communicate with their hardware. Go grab some APIs at developer.samsung.com (not part of the contest).
Direct any questions to Randall via meetup.com. Dallas Android organizers, as well as Samsung and Bottle Rocket employees are not eligible for the prize but may accept the challenge and show their work.
May the best implementation win.
