Diwali festival (Indian) dinner

Diwali (or deepavali) is the BIGGEST festival in India (Hindus). It is like our Christmas. Come celebrate with me while enjoying an extensive spread of delicious Indian food. It's buffet with a fixed price of about $11.

If there is a large enough group I will get us a private banquet hall.

If the date does not work, post an alternative in the comments section. Although, unless a large group wants it on another but same date I won't change the date.

Update: Let's kick it up a notch! If you can, please dress up in any traditional/festival attire. It will be fun :o) I will be in my full Indian traditional dress/suit!

Update 2:
- PLEASE UPDATE RSVP if there is a change
- Hope to see you all in some traditional attire
- Try to bring cash ($12 + tax + tips) so that it is quicker at the end. They accept cards of course.
- Beverages are not part of the buffet. So plan accordingly
- Lot of parking within the premises
- Reservation is under my name, in case you arrive earlier than I do.
- In case you need to reach me then[masked]-5134. Alita has been gracious enough to help as well. So you could reach her as well at (480)[masked]

Happy Diwali!!

Thanks to the organizers for this wonderful event. Thanks to the memebers who dressed in traditional attire. I enjoyed that. Thanks Priya for explaining the traditional story of Diwali. And Ragav, I loved your very festive attire! The food was great and my stomach is still on fi-ya!

I always have liked this place, and tonight was no exception. I really like chicken 65, and it was a pleasant surprise to see it on the buffet line. It was also great seeing meetup folks I haven't seen for a while, and meeting some new ones. A fun experience all around.

Raghav I have only been to two other place for Indian food, but the food at Delhi Palace was an eye opening expereince to me. I had only done two take outs at small Indian Resturants but just never made it back to them but I would like to try the others again from what I expereince, the chciken in that spice suace was good like the spicy taste, the lambs was very tender, the other dishes were good if I had my camera I would have been more discriptive. DELHI PALACE gets high star mark for me

Bombay Grill is unable to accommodate our request and back-tracked on us today. I had to move it to Delhi Palace on St. Andrews who is adding some special dishes for us specifically and more! I hope the venue change will not inconvenience any of you.

Yes, no changes to all that. It is still a buffet, and 2-3 extra dishes!!! Assuming most of us will turn up we will get a discount too.

No other changes! It is still a buffet with 2-3 extra dishes which I will choose apropos for the festival, and will still cost about $11.

I am looking forward to the celebrating with you all! I hope not, but if there is a change in plan PLEASE take a moment to update your RSVP. It is a small enterprise and they are preparing something special for us. They will prepare it with lot of love :) but let's make sure we are helping them to help us.

    Thank you!

There can be a very good possibility that I can attend on Sunday, but seeing how this weekend has been panning out so far, I do not want to say that 'll be there only to find out I cannot. If I find out I ca be there, can I come (even if my RSVP is no)?

I would love to go and live just a couple of minutes away but this is the only day for the Oyster Festival downtown. I actually have a murder mystery company and we perform mostly in restaurants with banquet rooms. Our next is Tues., Nov. 13th 7 p.m. at Villa Tronco, 1213 Blanding if anyone is interested? [masked] for reservations..casual and family friendly and WONDERFUL food.
