Discussion 27 - Kabbalah, its Concepts and Practice in Magick
Details
I am happy to introduce our 27th session focusing titled**: Kabbalah, its Concepts and Practice in Magick.** As of now, our new meeting place is Floky La Loutre (see address for full location). However, the same warm atmosphere and vibrant community still remains to welcome you to the event and I hope you can attend! The meeting will take place on November 4 at 18:45 - 20:45.
Introduction to the topic - What is Kabbalah? For those who have dipped their toes into the occult or even just peeked into the tarot, the word "Kabbalah" is something that appears quite prominently. Within one word is a vast philosophical, spiritual, and esoteric framework of thought. With so many different variations such as "Kabbalah", "Cabala", "Qabala", and "quaballah", it is easy to get lost in it all. But Kabbalah as it stands can be thought as a form of esoteric Judaic thought on creation, god, and the universe. The ancient Jewish world put forth Kabbalah and its concepts into history as their own conception of how reality works and how it was created. Throughout history (1200s and onward), Kabbalah developed into many different variations and ended up being incorporated into many different occult systems, frameworks, and works within European history. In western magick, Kabbalah is a critical linchpin alongside all present concepts such as astrology, alchemy, and the elements.
Kabbalah is far too large to cover in one 2 hour session, but we will do our best to dive into its concepts and its use in spiritual / magical practice. We will explore all-important concepts in Kabbalah such as the Tree of Life, the process of divine creation, god, Kabbalistic meditation, and practical Kabbalistic magick. Going even further than its concepts, we will tie the concepts of Kabbalah into the practice of magical ritual, with potential examples to draw on, including books and live-demonstration if the situation allows for it. I hope you will join us for this amazing session, as much of western magick can be seen through a Kabbalistic lens.
Our agenda for this event is as follows:
