Every second Saturday of the month, I, Ronnie from Geografiets, organize a Social Bike Tour in and around Amsterdam. Each month we follow a different wind direction and this time we’re heading northeast!

This edition is extra special: we’ll end the ride at the XXL Picnic in Noorderpark! This summer picnic is a collaboration between several social Meetup groups and promises to be a vibrant, friendly hangout. Even if the bike tour is full, you’re more than welcome to join the picnic later in the park!

Practical details:

• Start location: Screaming Beans (Waterlooplein)
• Gathering: From 09:45 AM
• Departure: Around 10:15 AM (after a coffee and some intros)
• Finish: Around 3:30 PM at Noorderpark (XXL Picnic)
• Distance: ~40 km
• Pace: Easygoing (10–15 km/h)
• Cost: €10 to reserve your spot (free to join the waiting list)
• Group size: Max. 15 participants
• Bring: Your own (or rented) bike, suitable clothing, snacks/drinks for the ride, and something to sit on or share at the picnic

XXL Picnic in Noorderpark
We’ll arrive around 3:30 PM and join the Picnic & Chill XXL, where BBQs are allowed and the atmosphere is all about good vibes. Bring your picnic mat, something to eat or drink, and maybe even an instrument. The Amsterjamming community will be playing some live music in the park!

A few more notes:

• The ride includes several short stops and two longer breaks (~30 min) to relax, snack, and chat.
• Participation is at your own risk. I’m not responsible for any accidents, damage, or lost items.
• This isn’t a typical guided tour. I’ll cycle at the front, and you're welcome to join me for a chat. I’ll answer questions along the way, but no tourist trivia or made-up stories 😉
• Weather dependent: the ride and picnic will only go ahead with good weather. We’ll reschedule if needed. And of course, if the tour gets canceled, I’ll refund the fee!
