What we're about

This group is about exploration, discovery, nature and adventure! For people that enjoy social events and making new friends. For people that love paddling the rivers, lakes, and the sea. For people that enjoy hiking, biking, fishing and camping -- kayak/canoe camping (campsites you can only paddle to) and car-camping (campsites you can drive to), etc., at some of our beautiful parks and out of the way places. Georgia and our surrounding States have much to offer, so let’s dig in and have some fun...Life is good!

Tuckaseegee Paddle & Camp Weekend Extravaganza, Woohoo! - July 09 to July 11

Flaming Arrow Campground & RV

$32.00

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE SIGNING UP.

***THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER TRIP, IF YOU CANNOT PADDLE CLASS II RIVERS THIS IS NOT FOR YOU***
***No Rentals Available For This Event
***No Pets Please

THE PADDLE:
We will be paddling an incredibly beautiful section of the Tuckaseegee River, both Saturday & Sunday, that is about 6-miles long. We may run it twice on Saturday provided the water level cooperates (it is dam controlled) and there is interested in doing another run.
Our first run, we will take our time, play in the rapids and enjoy the river. We'll take a lunch break either along the way or right afterwards. If we do a second run it always goes much faster, just enjoying the paddle and not stopping to play.
Paddling is a great way to get exercise, get outdoors, meet kindred spirits and get access to some of the most beautiful areas of the mountains not otherwise accessible.

***This is a Class I & II section of the Tuckaseegee River and you should have river-paddling experience to join us. I reserve the right to remove anyone for the benefit and safety of the group that I feel does not have the proper experience. I'm an experienced paddler myself and we paddle in groups for safety reasons but you should always be prepared to take care of yourself.
I want to make clear that I am not a trainer, coach, instructor or an outfitter.
***This is NOT an event for special-needs people because I am not equipped to provide the assistance that may be needed***

CAMPING:
This is a beautiful area in the North Carolina Smoky Mountains and Flaming Arrow Campground is a nice place to camp that we’ve stayed at before and really enjoyed, https://flamingarrowcampground.com/campground-map%2Fdirections -- Nice, clean, warm showers and bathrooms. Reservations are already made for group camping and the cost is $32.00 per person or couple for both Friday and Saturday nights.
DO NOT bring firewood from out of State; the campground has firewood at very reasonable prices.
We will be having our meals together at one group camp location daily and at the campfire each night as well.
