If you love bushwhacking and scrambling this hike has been scheduled for you. Tired of the ordinary, lets go off trail. This is a rugged and difficult hike. We'll meet at the main ranger station on Park Office lane beside the picnic tables and leave promptly at 9:00 am. The hike moves off up Crowders trail then promptly turns south off the marked trail onto a former horse path southward. When it crosses the Turnback trail we will continue south through the woods. From here we will freelance through the park making our own trail parallel to the ridge-line of Pinnacle Mountain and the Ridgeline trail. After about a mile or so of bushwhacking we will ascend the monadnocks and traverse the Ridgeline Trail northbound to the social trail escalating the south end of Pinnacle Mountain. Crossing Pinnacle we will descend and scramble down the rugged north end and rejoin the Pinnacle trail to deviate down the old Pinnacle trail to the intersection of Pinnacle and Turnback. From there we proceed to Camping Trail and north on the power line right of way. We'll continue north to an old logging road back to Crowders Trail and the Park Office. If you like to walk in the woods, this 6 mile hike is for you. Don't let the mileage fool you. It feels like an 8 to 10 mile hike. See you on Saturday! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XsbOf0UMSwpO8UGXBVhNvpsqBDrOE0S5xW85peQFwig
