Pleasant Grove Park, located in Fluvanna County, has over 20 miles of trails that wind through, what was formerly 969 acres of farmland. This park is now a wonderful place to explore and offers a wide range of habitats - from forests and open meadows and fields to meandering streams and access to the Rivanna River. For our adventure on this day, we will traverse several trails covering an overall distance of 4 to 5 miles. During our journey, we may see signs of the Spring season in the form of early blooming wildflowers. And we will certainly venture to a spot where we will have a nice viewpoint of the Rivanna River.

At the conclusion of our journey at Pleasant Grove Park we will head to Cunningham Creek Winery. PLEASE NOTE: If you are not interested in this post-hike outing, then you can anticipate that our hike will end around 3PM. For those carrying on to Cunningham Creek Winery, it is a 15-minute drive from Pleasant Grove. Wine tastings and/or sharing a bottle of wine are available options. For more information about Cunningham Creek, you can refer to this website: https://cunninghamcreek.wine/

And if you would like to, please bring a snack or appetizer with you that can be shared amongst all who participate in this activity. If you do decide to bring an item to share, I'm certain your fellow hikers will be very appreciative.

I hope you will be able to join - what should be a fun outing.

Carpool Fee - $5.00 - for those meeting in Charlottesville

And for those of you who are planning to start the day by meeting at Pleasant Grove Park - the Fluvanna County Public Library - please mention this in the "Comment" section of this adventure.
