  • Travel themed Quizzo!

    Belgian Cafe

My buddy Tim runs a weekly quizzo session at the Belgian Café. Since we are an adventure group and most of us love to travel I asked him if he would do a Travel Themed Quizzo for us if I posted it as a meetup. Come on out for some drinks, quizzo, team prize and connect with fellow adventurers. Please don't RSVP unless you intend to come - NO SHOWS MAY BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP - why so strict? Because this isn't a huge place so we can't have like 50 people there so I'm limiting this to 25. When an event is limited to a certain number and someone RSVP's and doesn't show up then a space is wasted that someone else could have used. If you RSVP YES and can't come, please change your RSVP as soon as possible. Quizzo officially starts at 8:30 but get there early to get a seat and get on a team. It's usually over around 10:30 after about 7 rounds of travel themed questions. (yes, really 7 rounds, not sure how fast he goes but 10 questions per round - sounds like non-stop action) Prize for the team with the most correct responses: $25 off the team's bar tab http://www.thebelgiancafe.com/

  • Cocktails and Cold Ones Happy Hour at Dilworth Park

    Dilworth Park @ City Hall

Come out and drink, talk winter adventure and maybe meet some of the people that will be on the Killington and Quebec bus trips. This happy hour is open to the public and will kind of be like center city sips. I check this venue out last night and it was cool and not overly crowded - we'll see if that continues through the winter or not. Per the official facebook event: "From the folks who bring you Center City District Sips, enjoy this winter edition in the Rothman Institute Orthopaedics (https://www.facebook.com/RothmanInstitute/) Cabin with $6 EFFEN Vodka (https://www.facebook.com/effenvodka/) cocktails, $5 wine and $4 Bud Light (https://www.facebook.com/BudLight/) draft beers, along with specially-priced food items from the Dilworth Park Air Grille. Take Lyft (https://www.facebook.com/games/lyftapp/?fbs=-1)! Use the code CCDWINTER for a discount!" NOTE: the Hot Toddy is NOT included in the special price :( and the food is not discounted at all but the options sound good so maybe plan to spend some $$$ on snacks Therefore, it might be crowded...I'll post a comment when I arrive which part/area of Dilworth we'll meet in - so make sure you can check the meetup event details/comments when you arrive Remember, this is OUTSIDE so dress appropriately for the weather - WE WILL CANCEL IF IT RAINS

  • Vlasto's last blast before he moves to Amsterdam

    Misconduct Tavern

THIS SATURDAY NIGHT OUT IS OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE GROUP, you don't have to know Vlasto to come out with us! Many of you know Vlasto from our ski trips, hiking trips, whitewater rafting trips, etc...he's been out for a lot of them over the past three years or so. Well, the lucky SOB decided to take a job in Amsterdam and will be moving over the weekend of Thanksgiving so we're doing a Meetup Night Out as a going away celebration so come on out and help give him a big send off. It's nothing formal, no presents or whatever, just come out and say good-bye, buy him a drink or a shot and enjoy a Saturday night out in center city Philly. The only plan is that we're going to meet at Misconduct on Locust St at 8pm. We'll probably be there for a few hours, and then who knows...lots of options in that area! Contact info will be sent to the YESs Saturday afternoon - so make sure to check your meetup email
