What is your current occupation or function?

I am the Executive Director for Europe for WEConnect International, a global organisation supporting supplier diversity in procurement and helping majority owned women businesses to connect into the corporate supply chain. I have lead responsibility for the management, leadership and development of WEConnect Europe. My role involves developing corporate and public sector support as well as growing and developing our database and network of registered and certified women business owners across the UK and Europe. WEConnect International provides the knowledge, networks, certification and platform women business owners need to reach new markets and prosper. We partner with a range of supporting organisations to identify and certify businesses that are at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more women.

Could you summarize your professional experience and background (use your Public LinkedIn Profile URL + Photo)

Prior to joining WEConnect International, I ran womenintechnology.co.uk – an online job board, recruitment and networking forum for women working in the technology profession in the UK. I was involved from Women in Technology's inception in the autumn of 2004 and I managed all aspects of the website and the networking activities Women in Technology organised. I continue to run the Women in Technology Network on an informal basis. My background is in technology recruitment within the financial services – I spent four years as a recruiter with McGregor Boyall Associates. Before this I worked for NatWest as a Graduate Banking Manager, providing financial advice to final year university students and graduates. I graduated from the University of East Anglia. In March 2012 I was honoured by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2012 and I am currently serving as a Global Agenda Council Member on Employment for the[masked] term. http://www.linkedin.com/in/maggieberryuk

What do you want to get out of the Global BDN Network Event? What are your interests?

I am interested in meeting women business owners who provide products and services that could be of interest to WEConnect's corporate members and I'm interested in meeting women working in the IT industry.
