  • *TONIGHT*RESIDENTS near GLENDALE: Stop Grayson Power Expansion! SAVE OUR HEALTH*

For anyone living in/near Glendale - this affects YOU!!! LA already has the WORST air quality in the country and GWP is proposing MORE TOXIC CARCINOGENS aka CANCER, ASTHMA, & MORE?!?! This is our last opportunity to show City Council that we want clean energy solutions for Glendale, not a new fossil fuel plant. Glendale's City Council will be voting to certify the Environmental Impact Report and, possibly, to approve the project. We want them instead to pause and launch a study of clean energy options. Join your friends and neighbors in support of clean air, a stable climate and fiscal sense. More details here: https://actionnetwork.org/events/rally-for-a-clean-energy-glendale See Glendale Environmental Coalition Page (on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StopGrayson/) or visit http://stopgrayson.com/updates/ for more info!!! :) ***TOMORROW EVENING*** PLEASE ARRIVE WHENEVER/HOWEVER LONG AS YOU CAN!!!! IF YOU LIVE NEAR/IN #Glendale #Solar #LosAngeles #LA #Burbank #AtwaterVillage #InEaglerock #LaCrescenta ***LA already has the WORST air quality in the country and GWP is proposing MORE TOXIC CARCINOGENS, CANCER, ASTHMA, & MORE?!?!***

  • ***Live in/near GLENDALE? Stop Grayson Power Expansion! SAVE OUR AIR QUALITY***

    • What we'll do • What we'll do We need a GIANT public turnout this Tuesday the 23rd to motivate City Council to vote in favor of pausing the Grayson process, and conduct a study for renewable alternatives to power Glendale. Come to Glendale City Hall anytime from 6-8pm and submit your comments to the council. Why does GWP want to build out a gas powered plant with pollutants that cause neurological degeneration and impaired gross motor coordination in our children, heighten the risk of dementia in our elderly loved ones, and increase the risk of asthma, heart disease, and cancer for all of us living in Glendale? - We'll be collecting comment cards from everyone to submit to City Council and be reviewed by the council before their vote on the 6th. - There will be a crowd count that will be submitted to City Council so they can see the magnitude of the Stop Grayson Effort. - Speakers will address City Council at the end of the meeting. - And there will be an opportunity for people in the crowd to be interviewed and this video footage will be submitted to the City Council as well. Join us at the rally, WEAR GREEN and be seen...and heard! • What to bring WEAR GREEN & We'll be collecting comment cards from everyone to submit to City Council and be reviewed by the council before their vote on the 6th. • Important to know Please visit Facebook's "Stop Grayson Power Expansion" for more info:) ***Please note that my work schedule is unpredictable, so if I'm not there, just meetup with other folks wearing GREEN:)***

  • Break Free LA and March at City Hall Downtown

    City Hall Los Angeles

We're 2 days away from Break Free L.A.! Meet us at Grand Park on the lawn west of L.A. City Hall along Spring Street at 12:30 PM. I'll be holding a sign for The Hollywood Climate Change Group. Plans are coming together for an amazing action to break free from the largest urban oil field in the country. Just announced: we’ll be joined by Bill McKibben, co-founder of 350 dot org and a Climate Hawks Vote board member, and Tom Steyer, founder of NextGen Climate. You can also RSVP at 350.org Many people look to California to inspire what it means to take climate change seriously. We are leading the way thanks to activists around the state—like you and me. But we know we need to move with more urgency to match the level of crisis we are approaching. With cities running out of water, sea levels rising, and our health being compromised—half measures will not do. We need bold action to break free from fossil fuels. Our climate is at a tipping point—and California is still one of the largest oil producing states in the U.S. Our governor might take measures to increase fuel efficiency in our cars, but we need to stop it at the source. We need to break our addiction to fossil fuels. Can you join thousands of friends in downtown Los Angeles this Saturday? We’ll hear from activists in Northern California, Southern California, and 15-year-old Nalleli Cobo, who inspired Naomi Klein last February. Along with these speakers, we'll hear musical performances by Grammy-nominated singer Antonique Smith and bilingual hip-hop crew Inner City Dwellers. Meet us at Grand Park on the lawn west of L.A. City Hall along Spring Street at 12:30 PM.
