(S) Dean’s List: Looking Glass Rock Trail Pisgah

Details
**(S) — looking glass rock Trail.
I know it’s hot, but let’s get high. High in the sense of high in the mountains looking glass rock is one of the most famous heights in Pisgah. The mountain itself is a pluton, which means a very hard piece of granite overtime surrounding landscape, erodes and leaves a large pluton. It also has a sheer rock face of about 1000 feet. It provides an excellent view of the higher peaks of this area. The hike itself is a winding trail through the forest with a fair amount of climb about 1679 feet variously listed as between 5.7 and 6.2 miles. We will start the hike at 10 am at trail Head. I do need someone to provide carpooling from Buncombe Road and to organize this the hike is only between 5.7 and 6.2 miles and again with 1679 feet elevation and I anticipate trying to keep to a 2 mile an hour pace.Looking Glass Falls is very close and deserves a visit either before or after the hike.
