Abstract: Lot of startups follow the popular “cult” of Python, MySQL, and AWS. None of them are necessarily bad early on, but cause significant issues as your startups gains traction. I talk about the cons of this combination, present best practices learnt at Google working with the biggest database in the world, propose viable alternatives, and how I’ve used them in my own startups.
