  • Dwan in Bloomington

    Dwan Golf Club

    $2.00

Let's golf Dwan on Saturday June 1st. We have 4 tee times starting at noon. The cost for 18 holes is $33 walking and $49 with a riding cart. If you want to join us on this very playable, fun course then sign up. After golf, we can head to Cowboy Jacks in Bloomington near Southtown Mall for dinner. Starting with this event, there will be a $2 non-refundable per event reservation fee. This helps us discourage no shows, which depending on the course, may have to be funded by the organizer (me, in this case). It also helps fund the annual cost for having this site on meetup. This fee does not go toward your green fees. You will pay that in the clubhouse before your round. If you sign up and need to cancel, do so before Thursday, May 30 at noon when the reservations close. I'll send out tee times and pairings Thursday night.

  • Golf & Graze or Hack & Snack

    Highland National Golf Course

This is a great opportunity for those of you who are just starting to golf or who need a warm up session. We will be golfing Highland National's executive 9-hole course and it only takes 2 hours to complete the course. (It is across the street from the 18-hole golf course.) You don't have to count your strokes, you don't have to even tee off if you don't want to. Just come out, have some fun and laughs with people who may or may not keep score. Who may pull a "foot wedge" out of their bag or who may just pick up their ball and place it next to the person who drove the ball the furthest. This event is all about having some fun, laughs and getting out there to hit that "little 'ole white ball." (Or an orange or even a pink one. No one will care.) Afterwards the laughter will continue at a local watering hole. Cost $15 to walk 9 holes; and if you are 62 or older the cost is $26 for 9 holes and a cart. Tee times & Pairing: 5:04 p.m. Carol B, Darren J, Pete C, Mary S (aka Pete) 5:12 p.m. Ann & Terry D, Sue M. Mark

  • Golf with the Animals at Como Park

    Needs a location

Saturday is supposed to be a beautiful day, so lets get out there and swing the clubs and maybe we can hear the monkeys on a couple of holes. We have a rate of $39 with cart. That is a Pioneer Press coupon rate. Some of you may have received that coupon. If you didn't don't worry, they are giving the entire group the $39 rate. Tee times & Pairings: 12:16 p.m Carol, Jay, Sue, Jane 12:24 p.m. CJ, Anne, Terry, Bob Cuzzy's at the clubhouse afterwards is where we'll meet afterwards. Cancellation policy: 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23rd. See below for more information on cancellation policy. New for this year is that group sizes may be smaller and after this event there will be a $2 reservation fee attached to all events where you don't pay the golf course in advance. So that means Stonebrooke is exempt from the new reservation fee. Also new for this year is that we will be keeping track of no shows and cancellations. After 3 no-shows the individual will be removed from the group.

  • Back to South Carolina for Golf in Spring 2019

    Needs a location

UPDATE 2/1/19: RSVP for the trip is now closed. Right now, we have 13 people signed up to go and lodging secured. Others can sign up (max of 28 people), but you will have to find your own lodging. If you plan to go and secure your own lodging, please let me know so we have correct numbers for tee times. EVENT DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS Hi gang. We were so taken with the TPC Players Village Condos in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina (about 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach) we're heading back for more rounds of golf, camraderie and fun side excursions in 2019. There are four condos available, each with 4 rooms with a queen bed and a private ensuite bathroom. Price for lodging is $440 for the week, which comes out to around $65 a night for a single, couple or friends who want to share a room. We plan to play the TPC course near the condos again and then explore the highly rated courses a little south on Pawleys Island. For budgeting, golf rounds are about $80 each (which is deeply discounted for that time of year) and we'll plan to play as a group 3 times. People can play more if they want to on their own or in smaller groups. If airfare is about the same as this year, add anywhere from $150 to $350 to the costs (depending on what airline you want to fly). This year, many people drove. Depending on how many drivers there are, each person may also incur rental car charges (cars can be shared to lower costs). The six rooms at TPC Players Village will be filled first come, first serve. If you need to find a roomate to defray costs, that will be up to you to find someone. Once we fill a condo, we'll ask for a check for the $440 lodging cost and set a quick deadline to receive payment. If we do not receive your payment by the deadline, the room will be offered to the next person on the list. So sign up and join us! We will make more South Carolina golf vacation memories in 2019!
