People get "points" for flying the same airline and using the right credit card, and every year they are asked to "level up" their donations for politicians and non-profits. But these are only the simplest forms of "game-based marketing" which has shown itself to be one of the best ways to drive loyalty, member engagement and donations. How can these tools, used by increasingly by all sorts of companies, help your non-profit organization?
Gabe Zichermann, author of a new book on the subject of gamification and engagement mechanics entitled Game Based Marketing, will be talking about how these techniques can help motivate a constituency for action and donations. He'll be giving a preview of some of the lessons of his upcoming workshops to be held in NY and SF. Read more about him at Gamification.co (http://gamification.co/).
And here's some good news: we are now being hosted by New Work City. Their new space is more comfortable and quiet, and should be perfect for this event. So make sure you come to this kickoff in what will hopefully be our permanent home.
Note that because of the restrictions of the New Work City space, we'll be starting the presentation at 7:00pm. Be sure to get there on time. If you're a little late, no worries, but better to be a little early (not a LOT early though).
