This is our regular monthly meetup. We usually discuss our ideas of what would make a better world and how we can get there. However, there are no strict rules to the discussion and attendees, especially those coming for the first time, are welcome to talk about whatever they find interesting.
Some key topics we have focused on in recent meetings are the following:
Basic Income: Wikipedia describes this proposal (also known as Unconditional/Universal Basic Income or Citizen’s Income) as “A social security system in which all citizens or residents of a country regularly receive an unconditional sum of money, either from a government or some other public institution, in addition to any income received from elsewhere”.
Consensus decision-making: A group decision-making process in which group members develop, and agree to support, a decision in the best interest of the whole.
Agile software development: A set of software development methods in which requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross-functional teams.
Equal Satisfaction: A system in which the state keeps everyone at the same level of want satisfaction.
Positive Money: An alternative to our current money-creation system in which 97% of our money is created by banks in the form of loans.
