• From JS to TS
Hello Got.js, We like pizza, beer and tech - let's combine them! Let's have a great September evening together at Benify IT HQ. Our own developer Jonas Svensson will talk about how we took on the challenge with migrating our Javascript to Typescript and Angular, what problems we had along the way and why we made the choices we made. Hopefully, it's useful for anyone who is entering a project where you can't build an application from scratch. Afterward, we will discuss your take on web components and what the pros and cons might be. See you all there!

  • Back from summer AW
Long time, no see! As people are coming back from summer vacations, let's get together for an After Work hangout and enjoy some pizza, drinks, and chat about JavaScript or whatever you want. Did you start a new side project during summer? What are you most looking forward to working on during the autumn? Or are you dreading going back to work and want some support from fellow developers (or maybe a new job ;) )? We want to talk about it! This will be a joint meetup together with Got.rb (https://www.meetup.com/got-rb/events/253612776/). You can RSVP to either group's event, but please make sure to only RSVP to one of them so that you don't take up two spots.

  • Back from the Dead
Hello Got.js! The last meetup of this group was in 2014, that's about 14 dog years ago. Let's rectify this by bringing this group back from the dead. We will have three presentations, which will have a time limit of 20 minutes each, with a little time for discussion afterwards: • Simon Nord: "Go to GraphQL without passing REST" • James Kyburz: "No more install using install-missing + hihat" • Tamás Kádár: "Javascript: the past, the present, and the future" The Got.js meetup group applies the Berlin Code of Conduct (http://berlincodeofconduct.org/). Please read it and act accordingly.

  • BaaS techtalk @ Spotify
Hello dear Gothenburgers, it's been a long winter and the olympic games will end shortly. Luckily, BaaS is kind of hot at the moment, and what I've heard, Spotify's new office is kind of hot too. Let's combine them! We have two talkers that will open their hearts and talk about BaaS, Mr. Robert Edström and a secret Spotify guy/girl. See y'all there!

  • Discuss the latest hotness
Hi Lets meet up and play catch up on the latest happenings in the js space. As much as I enjoy talking :), I want you to bring something to the floor. Suggestions are but not limited to: Explain how we use that new HTML5 api in practice will a cool demo. Show how you can access variables in a private scope Pick apart a chrome experiment (http://www.chromeexperiments.com/) Show off that js only app that you've been building Demo a browser addon or how you wrote yours. How to get started with Baas (Sorry for stealing that one) Any JS MVC frameworks are clearly banned (Just kidding, but seriously?) Write your topic in the comments below and get it validated instantaneously by a flood likes! Try too keep your presentation/discussion to 5-15 min. If longer give me a shout and we will see if it fits. Ripping off another idea from the "Göteborg distributed" group: we will be offering a limited number of spots. If you missed the rush and ended up in the waiting list. Come up with a talk and and give me a shout and I may extend a extra spot to you. Oh yeah and Burt will be kindly supplying venue, food and drinks. How cool is that? The RSVP will open this evening at 18:00

  • Bring Code
Hi Lets all meetup at Burt and discuss some coffee/js code. The idea is to do many 10 min large group discussions about code examples brought by you. It could be code you wrote, code you hate, code you are curious about, code you want to test etc. Anything goes. If you plan to bring a piece of code just mention it in the comments below.

  • DOM API / Open floor
I hope you all had a great summer! It's time for the autumn's first meetup. Next Wednesday evening we will head over to SaltSide (http://saltside.se/) for some discussion of the DOM api with its quirks, hidden methods and a few tricks around performance. Some time has passed has passed since our last meetup which means lightyears in javascript land. If you are curious about some of the new steamy hotness or (re)discoveries of old gold (http://vanilla-js.com/) there will time for indulging into that as well. If you have something you would like to present please call out in the comments below. EDIT: I unfortunately mixed up the dates, the correct date is next Wednesday the 19 of september. I'm sorry for the confusion.

  • Beauty contest
We will continue with the discussion/presentation form but this time with a little spice. Many of us might not have had javascript as our primary language historically but times change and javascript has been getting alot of traction, more developers end up writing complex applications and components. The question remains how do we give the same love to javascript as all the other code we produce daily. Therefore we ask you to bring along some javascript that you find beautiful, stunning sexy or outright glorious. It does not have to be your own, it could be something you stumbled upon in your favorite library or app. Anything from neat hacks to indentation wars are welcome. Burt is also proudly sponsoring with food and beer for the evening, please RSVP.
