Sail for Newbies From Alameda on Saturday

The weatherman says that it is going to sunny and warm on Saturday.  So, let's go sailing.  The tides are should be flooding in the morning, so we will probably stay in the South Bay and lunch over at McCovey Cove.

We will meet at the Oakland Yacht Club in Alameda at 1000 hours on Saturday morning at the flagpole in front of the yacht club.  Please be on time and do not bother the marina managers inside  (please bring my cell phone number with you in case you get lost, or are running late).  There is plenty of free parking here.

We will meet at 1000 and sail before 1100, returning at around 1600 hours, stopping for lunch at McCovey Cove next to AT&T Park.  So this is a full day on the water.

We will experience many different wind and sea conditions and try all the points of sail.

Please bring a sweater and a jacket for when it cools off.  Bring foul weather gear and a PFD if you have them (I have some extras), and wear non-marking soled shoes.

You may participate in the sailing of the boat as much, or as little, as you desire.

I have ginger ale and bottled water on board.  Please bring a snack to share and whatever beverage you prefer - No RED wine, blueberries, or other things that stain.

Willin' is a big, modern, safe, well-equipped, well-maintained yacht with full electronics and instrumentation.  We will not be pushing her to her limits and we will enjoy a safe, comfortable sail.  I will control the RSVP and waiting lists to ensure that we have a good mix of newbies and experienced sailors.

There will be a half-hour orientation to get you familiar with the boat and safety procedures prior to leaving.

Your Forty-dollar donation will help to defray costs.  If you have questions about this or anything else please email me.

We have had some incredible outings in the past:

Please do not forget to answer the informational questions when you sign up.  Without these answers, I cannot confirm your reservation.

OK, let's go sailing and have some fun.
