Re: [gotwaw] New Meetup: Sunset Sail! Classic wooden sloop and classic fun w/ shared wine and snacks!

Hi Dan,

I tried once or twice to email you. But, they bounced. Thank you for the great sail the other evening. It was a terrific group. Tasha was so good natured and Allie was such trooper.

Dan, someone put my picture on the website and tagged it w/ my name.  I tried to untag the photo and delete it. But, I could not. I prefer that neither appear, especially linked.  Will you please take care of that?

Thanks again for the opportunity to go forward.  I had know idea how I was going to navigate until was up the deck. Then, it was so easy.  The only thing I wish I has done was swing one leg outboard.  I felt totally secure, unafraid and, joyful.

Thanks again.

Announcing a new Meetup for Got Wind and Water . . .!

What: Sunset Sail! Classic wooden sloop and classic fun w/ shared wine and snacks!
When: Thursday, June 30,[masked]:30 PM

Where: 101 Spinnaker Way
101 Spinnaker Way
Berkeley, Ca 94710

Watching the sunset and the moon come up while aboard a classic wooden sloop enjoying wine, snacks and great is a must-have at least once a week!

A relaxed evening sail no matter what the weather is like. We'll just head out and see where the wind takes us. We can leave at 6:30 but we'll leave earlier if everyone can make it and no worries if it ends up being 7. We will be back at the dock between 9 or 9:30.

If you are new to sailing (or just curious) you are encouraged to check out pictures of the boat at or facebook at Capt Bohn Classic Sails.

The 'Head':

The head or bathroom aboard Feral is called 'The Bucket'. There are clean bathrooms in the marina. It's not a super long sail so you can probably hold it. But I've noticed that as soon as one person uses The Bucket lots of people get comfortable with it. (Guys use the big bucket over the side...)!/pages/Capt-Bohn-Classic-Sails/[masked] Bonus points if you click 'like' on fb!

Photos of a recent moonlight sail are here:[masked]

$30 and food and wine / drinks to share. Please bring snacks to share with the group - things that are easy to eat like finger foods, cheese and crackers, fruit, berries, cookies etc. The $30 donation is on a sliding scale for folks who would happily pay if they could but for whatever reason can't right now. Please send me an e-mail if the full donation is an issue. Sailing is a basic human right!

For sure wear clothes. Warm clothes. Even on the warmest days it is still chilly out on the water. Bring layers and something water and wind proof if you have it. Ski clothes are an excellent option. There is plenty of room down below to stow extra gear.

Who is going? This sail is also posted in another Meetup group for non-sailors. They have been super fun and ended up getting into sailing and joining Gotwaw! Because of the cross posting I start with a low number of folks going on this posting and then increase it the day (or morning!) before the sail.

Space is limited on the boat.  If you are on the wait list and really want to go e-mail me.  As I will increase the number of spots available AND there is usually some last minute shuffling of folks who can't go IT IS WORTH GETTING ON THE WAITING LIST!!

Where to find us EXACTLY!!   This link will show a little pin right at the foot of the dock.,+Ca+94710&sourceid=ie8-activity

Check it out!
