Introduction to Java workshop

Calling all Java learners!

The London Java Community invite you to join them at a practical workshop covering the basic principles of coding with Java with plenty of time to practice and ask questions. There will be one-to-one mentoring from experienced Java developers from within the LJC.

**This workshop continues the agenda started at an LJC workshop in  September. Don't be put off as it’s not too late to get involved. Come along tonight - there will be coding buddies to help you make the most of the evening.**

The agenda for the evening covers:

- Java Basics:

- Primitives, Arrays, Strings, Objects, flow control, Methods, Classes, Packages and keywords and key concepts that you’ll need defined.

- Java Compiler and run-time basics:

- Javac, Java, Hotspot, GC, Classes and Classloader

The workshop is a relaxed and friendly way to develop your coding skills. All questions are welcomed - we are all here to learn together!

Tonight's session will be led by LJC co-leader, Martijn Verburg.

Please bring your own laptop to the event. We’ll be emailing out a pdf with the preparation for the event to the GDC list email today, so check your inboxes for the details.

6:15 doors open. Please arrive promptly.

6:30 coding starts.

9:00 move to the bar to continue the conversation
