We are back 🎉, and this time Ocado Technology and Embrace will join forces to share their experiences with Open Telemetry and Grafana 🙌 Here is our agenda:

1. Measuring and improving Ocado Smart Platform user experience in mobile and web apps with Grafana Cloud and Embrace

The Ocado Smart Platform services grocery retailers worldwide, including mobile app software that supports growth by helping partners acquire and retain high-value customers, increase basket size, frequency, and spend, and unlock new revenue streams. This talk will review the problems Ocado Technology identified, the options considered to better measure and improve SLOs for user-facing apps, and how they implemented Grafana Cloud and Embrace to unify SLO dashboards and give better tools to Ocado mobile engineering teams. Additionally, it will discuss the positive effect of increased collaboration between the core Observability organization and the mobile engineering teams, adoption of OpenTelemetry for mobile app uses, and the partner integration between Embrace and Grafana Cloud. You’ll learn (A) suggested ways to collaborate with engineering teams in frontend applications to identify gaps leading to poor measurement of user experiences, (B) instrumentation tips and tricks for your mobile applications to source better data, and (C) how you can use Grafana Cloud and Embrace together to build customizable SLO dashboards that link back to real user play-by-plays that allow you to diagnose and troubleshoot your real user experiences, or prevent them from degrading in the first place.
