Our final "Dinner with an Artist" event for this year, is a special tribute to diversity, and to DC, a melting pot of diverse people from all around the world.
The world we live in, can be viewed through different lenses, and what we experience is based on how we choose to see, but on this special evening, we will experience it through the power of the Arts, in the form of dance and music.
Our special evening will have music and dances spanning from the melodic tunes of Asia, to the stylish waltzes of Europe and Russia, the vibrant passionate soul of African and Latin music and the elegant sensuous rhythm of the Tango.
Our guest Artist, will perform a special musical medley with popular tunes from over 8 different countries, and we will have some of the best dancers from our local ballroom and tango community joining us for a evening of social dinner and dance.
"Dinner with an Artist" is our a periodic event series where we invite different Artists to join us for dinner, injecting a bit of Art creativity and new learning experiences into our evening of socializing around food and drinks.
"Dinner with an Artist" aspires to connect different professionals with our local Art communities to create a evening of new ideas, artistic and cultural experiences while also supporting the work of our local DC artists.
There is no additional fee for this event, and as always members only pay for their own dinner at the restaurant. We however request that our members contribute anywhere between $5 - $10 to the performing Artist, as an appreciation of the hard work and many nights, that go into perfecting any skill of Art.
Our evening will feature a wide variety of music with special waltzes, Latin dances and tango.
For many of our members, that still have dancing on their bucket list, this is a great evening to sit back and experience the many style of dances and meet some of the best dancers from the area.
Our Artist for this special evening is Nancy Leonard, who has charmed audiences across the country with her soulful performances, recorded her own CD and has just released a book for aspiring musicians, on how to make a living with their musical talent.
Nancy's journey of following her dream of becoming a musician, with a special talent of entertaining her audience will resonate with many. After having worked with the FDA in the field of science, she followed her passion for the Arts and music, to earn herself the title - Accordion Queen of DC.
Nancy’s wide musical repertoire includes literally everything! Ballads, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Jazz, Jewish, Polish, Spanish, Russian and waltzes.
Our selected venue, is the Mexican Taqueria, in Adams Morgan - Johnny Pistolas, who will be hosting this special evening of our "Dinner with an Artist" series, giving us an entire restaurant floor for the event.
Johnny Pistolas is an LA inspired Taqueria, with the goal of providing guests an authentic tasting LA style tacos and other Mexican small plates of food with a great beer selection and refreshing cocktails.
Please manage your RSVP responsibly as any late cancellations will only deny a spot for other members to attend, but importantly making it very difficult to successfully continue with this series, which is just beginning to grow.
