We are a very active social community dedicated to food, beverage and the arts in the Washington, DC metro area. Our events are held in diverse, convenient locations in the DMV that allow our members to learn and enjoy their favorite Grape or Grain beverage in a casual atmosphere while making new friends.
The Grapes & Grains community was created to connect people in a diverse and multicultural city such as DC, using the three most fundamental components of socializing, found in every culture around the world - Food, Beverage and the Arts. Our events, while creating a fun social atmosphere, allow our members to learn about their favorite beverage, i.e. wine, beer, whisk(e)y and other spirits, and share their own culture with others through food and the arts.
As many of our members are artists, creative individuals and professionals that love supporting local artists and art communities, some of our events tend to involve local artists or local art communities.
Our events are typically limited to smaller group sizes, where the objective is to socialize around food and drinks, converse and enjoy the diverse company of others, which normally does not happen in larger group events.
"Life is too short and time is too precious to waste on bad food, beverage or company."
For 2016, we have planned wine, beer and whisk(e)y tastings, wine-paired dinners, trips to local wineries, breweries and distilleries, besides events with local artists and art communities (Jazz, Opera, local theater, art galleries etc.) in the DMV metro area. New ideas are also welcome. We are a member-based group. We can only grow with each other.
Though the primary objective of our group is to socialize and have a good time around food, beverage and the arts, we also aspire to have a meaningful impact on our local communities.
As we grow, we continuously evolve by bringing together new cultural experiences and ideas, through different professionals and artists. Our “Dinner with an Artist” program, created by social collaboration with different local art communities and local restaurants invites different artists to join us for dinner, injecting a bit of creativity, culture and new experiences into our evening of socializing around food and drinks, while supporting the work of our local DC Artists.
In the pursuit of finding your "Grape or Grain", discover new tastes, make new friends and enjoy some of the diverse culinary aspects of our city.
