Visit to Kochi and Munnar (Neelakurinji Blooms)

The endless stretches of the rolling hills get covered by the blue flowers which come in around 40 odd varieties. The botanical name of Neelakurinji is 'Strobilanthes kunthianus' and in local language Neela means blue and Kurinji is the local name for the flower. The Nilgiri Tahr, the endangered mountain goat is a native of this national park. How about a visit to Munnar to witness this unique feature….. We would be visiting Kochi and munnar. Tentative Itinerary: Day 1: (Friday 28th Sept). Fly to Kochi and check into the hotel for a good night’s rest. Day 2: (Saturday 29th Sept). Local site seeing in Kochi. Start the day with sunrise at Fort Kochi beach. Then explore Fort Kochi which has many historical monuments dating back to the colonial times. Then move to Santa Cruz Basilica to see the European Church built by the Portugese. Then move to St. Francis Church and then the Dutch Cemetry. Post lunch visit the famous Kochi fort and the Southern Naval headquarters. Take a trip to the Cochin Shipyard which is one of the biggest ship repair and maintenance facility in India. Go to the Cherai Beach. Evening shopping and then return back to the hotel in kochi. and stay in Kochi. Day 3: (Sunday 30th Sept.) Post breakfast start for Munnar which is around 4 hours drive from Kochi. On the way visit the birth place of Sree Shankaracharya at kaladi. Drive through the Thattekkad bird Sanctuary and the Bhoothathankettu Dam. Witness the magical Cheeyappara Waterfalls. Post lunch visit the Spice Plantation and Tea Museum Evening you have the opportunity to shop in Munnar town. Day 4: (Monday 1st Oct.) Early morning visit the Ervikulam National park to see the Neelakurinji flowers and then continue with Local site seeing in Munnar like Photo point, Honey tree, Mattupetty Dam (Boating is available here), and Kundala lake. Stay back in Munnar. Day 5: (Tuesday 2nd Oct) Post breakfast start for Kochi. On the way visit the Blossom park and Pothenmedu View Point. Visit Spice Plantation. Continue with local site seeing in Kochi like Jewish Synagogue and Mattancherry Palace. Then move to Marine drive and go for a boat cruise to have a view of the Marine Drive, Goshree Bridge, Bolgatty Palace, Chinese Fishing nets and some anchored ships. (also cover any place left out from the day 2 local trip). Have dinner and take the return flight to Hyderabad. On RSPV your name will be waitlist. * Great Hyderabad Adventure Club - GHAC is the Trekking and Adventure Club of Hyderabad that caters to Hiking, Trekking Adventure and Outdoor Adventure Activities all over India. we also conduct Bird Watching and Adventure sports like Bouldering, Rock climbing, Rappelling, Paragliding and White Water Rafting.

GHAC is registered with Govt of India as a Not for Profit Adventure Club and is affiliated to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). The Club is open to all and run by trained and experienced professionals and volunteers.

GHAC has been mentioned into the Limca Books of records -2013. The club is growing and is the most active adventure club in India by the sheer number of adventure activities the club does all round the year

* The Club Membership is free and open to everyone above 18 years. Young members above 13 years may participate with parental consent. Children above 6 and upto 12 years may participate along with parents only.

* Safety is priority for us - Our Outdoor Leaders are trained and certified in their respective fields and know first aid and emergency handling. They have significant experience with outdoor activities and work very hard to make each event a safe and enjoyable experience.

* Our Mission is to get people together for the purposes of:

• Promote Adventure and Outdoor Recreational Activities

• Character Building, Leadership and Youth Development

• Nature Awareness, Care and Conservation
