Wild | Biodiversity Adventure camp with wildlife experts at Nagarjunsagar

It is one of the World's largest masonry dam consisting of 26 gates, Nagarjunasagar Dam is located on borders of Nalgonda District in Telangana and Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh states and is built across River Krishna. The dam has storage capacity of nearly 11,472 million cubic meters. The height of the dam is 150m tall and 1.6 kms in length. In fact, it is one of the first irrigation projects started by Government of India as an element of Green Revolution in 1965. Today, apart from offering not only irrigation facility, it is also a source of hydro-electricity. The dam attracts a huge number of tourists owing to its great magnificence as well as the cover of dense green surrounding with lot of biodiversity like Birds, Butterflies, and Reptiles etc.


It is a 70 feet (21 m) high river cascade waterfall, situated in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh state. It is situated on the Chandravanka River, which is a tributary of river Krishna joining on its right bank. The waterfall is a combination of three streams namely Chandravanka Vagu, Nakkala Vagu and Tummala Vagu. It is situated at a distance of 11 kilometres from Nagarjuna sagar Dam. The river then joins the Krishna River after the dam after travelling about 3 kilometres from the falls.


Anupu is an ancient Buddhist site located at Nagarjunsagar maintained by Archeological Survey of India. There are three main structures at Anupu – Ancient University, Amphi theatre and Harati temple. It has a Simha Vihara with two halls, one encircling a Buddha image. The Amphi theatre is a structure with steps and and a central open display area. It is one of the best places to see Buddhist ruins.


In this two days nature and biodiversity camp we would explore the biodiversity of Nagarjunsagar which is adjoining part of Amarabad Tiger reserve Telangana and Nagarjunsagar Srisailam Tiger reserve of Andhra Pradesh and it is known to be rich in Flora of Deccan peninsular with many Dry Deciduous tree species, Fauna like Birds, Butterflies, Reptiles including Snakes, Lizards and other Insects would be observed during the whole camp.

▸ Day 01: (Saturday)

6:00am - Start from Hyderabad (carpool)

9:00am- Reach campsite breakfast followed by introduction overview of the camp .

10:00am - Boat if boating if available els Trek to watchtower (campsite)

1:00pm - Lunch (veg).

2:00pm - Trek to Ethipothala waterfalls.

5:00pm - Back to campsite and Tent pitching.

6:00pm - Campfire , team games and sharing experiences n stories , stargazing.

8:30pm - Dinner.

9:30pm - Night trek /walk spotting nocturnal biodiversity Flora fauna reptiles , insects scorpions.

▸ Day 02: (Sunday)

5:00am - wake up and fresh up.

6:00am - Nature walk / Field visit n Identify butterflies , birds insects reptiles flora and fauna.

8:30am - Anupu - Ancient Buddhist site visit

9:30am - Breakfast.

10:00am - Snake awareness camp venomous and nonvenomous and (live show).

12:30pm - Packing

1:00pm - Lunch

1:30pm - Start back to hyd

4:30pm-Reach hyd .

▸ Hydration bladder/Water bottle (2 liters). We discourage the use of plastic bottles and thus request you to bring bottles from your home itself

▸ Bring plastic bags to keep wet clothes and zip-locks to protect your cellphones during rainfall.
