Stav Appel, author of The Torah in the Tarot (2025), will present the Tarot de Marseille as a clandestine keeper of Torah stories that served as a spiritual lifeline for Jews displaced by the Spanish Inquisition. Come learn the difference between ancient Jewish mysticism — Kabbalah — and the 19th century system of Qabala that many tarot readers are familiar with today.

About The Speaker
Stav Appel is a data scientist and a lifelong student of Torah. After a chance encounter with an old deck of Tarot cards, Stav began to explore the origins and meaning of the biblical references he recognized in its images. He is now a frequent speaker and popular writer on the Torah in the Tarot, the lost and forgotten Judaic origins of the mysterious Tarot de Marseille. He currently resides in New Salem, NY.
