Did you know that winter is one of the most vocal and active seasons for many owls? As most of our local species of owls are not migratory, breeding and nesting season begins several months before other birds like warblers.
You can hear owls and other nocturnal critters as we hike the trails of Audubon Acres after dark during this month's owl prowl. You’ll learn to identify night time sounds and even make a few of your own. It’s a hoot! Barred and Great Horned Owls are seen and heard on the property regularly, but you never know what you'll see. Bring a flashlight and dress for the weather.
