• What we'll do
An introductory workshop that provides an outline of how to structure a magazine article, how to come up with relevant ideas, and how to pitch to magazine editors. 15-20 minutes of in-class writing, with volunteers sharing their work, and receiving critique from Annemarie and others in the class. Catered towards people writing or wishing to write professionally for magazines.
This workshop will be run by Annemarie Luck of Engawa and Tokyo Weekender.
The date of the next workshops in the series will be announced during this workshop. These will be limited to 20 participants each. These workshops will expand on certain topics covered in workshop one and will involve more writing, with editing and feedback provided by Annemarie after the classes in her own time.
Engawa is a new global communication company that was launched in collaboration with Sunny Side Up PR agency and publishes monthly glossy magazine Tokyo Weekender, which was founded in 1970. My role includes editing the magazine, managing social media, and working on a variety of marketing projects.
