What are your reasons for joining the group (learning, socializing, curiosity, etc)?

I want to learn more about web development and I want to form connections with people in my field that could help me find a permanent job.

What topics would you like to see covered by the group?

I have seen many jobs in the last 9 months that require c#, ASP.NET, and visual basic experience, but I also know that Java is used often for smartphone applications. I want advice on whether I should learn Java first or c#, ASP.NET, and visual basic.

Are you an expert in any web development technologies? If so, which ones?

I would not say that I'm an expert by any means, but I have understanding of PhP, MySQL, HTML, and CSS. I also understand a little bit of javascript.

I am a web developer and recent graduate of Cornerstone University who is currently looking for a permanent position in a Grand Rapids area company.
