Getting Things Done DC (GTD DC) Meetup
DC GTD Meetup Agenda
I. Introductions + Overview (7:30 PM)
Each member will introduce himself/herself, tell us what you do professionally, your history with GTD, and a recent success/challenge with your GTD implementation. We'll give a few minutes to discuss solutions to the challenges we all share.
II. GTD Concept for Discussion (8:00PM)
Creating a GTD "Dashboard"
Whether it's at your computer at the office, or when you sit in the driver's side of a car, you have a ritual for starting your task-at-hand. Some people are more methodolical than others; I like to ease into my workflow at my desk, just as I like to arrange the mirrors, find just the right seat position and make sure the music/HVAC systems are adjusted to my liking in the car.
I've realized that the more developed this habit is and better access I have to the tools I use to get work done, the better my productive workflow goes. This is sometimes called creating a "dashboard," both for your physical and digital workspaces.
This month, let's discuss what kinds of dashboards you've created, the tools you've used, the habits you've developed that get you into the groove, and really, how these workspace arrangements help you get things done!
III. GTD Resource Sharing (8:50PM)
This is where everyone can offer a book title, tip/trick or item that has helped them in their life either with GTD or otherwise.
I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO BRING SOME KIND OF GTD OR PRODUCTIVITY RESOURCE THEY KNOW ABOUT OR USE TO OFFER TO THE GROUP!
IV. Announcements / Closing Remarks (8:55 PM)
If you have a CD that belongs back in the "GTDDC Library" please find it and bring it with you to the meeting or arrange to get it back to Ray ASAP. We want to make sure as many are accessible to all members to listen to! Thanks! And, as always, GTD is better when shared with a friend. Bring a friend to the next GTD Meetup and share the values of the productive life!
