We are highly selective with admitting new members (~20% admit rate), so fully completed profile questions will get priority. What is your full name and LinkedIn profile URL?

I consider myself an ambitious person and while I have been moderately successful in achieving some of my goals, I feel I may have reach a plateau. Part of that can be attributed to a lack of systematic habit formation. As a hired journalist, I often want to set aside time for writing projects outside of work but can't figure out how to

What is the nature of your interest in designing experiences for personal habit development?

Can you share a 5-minute personal story about a successful habit practice that's lasted longer than 100 days? If so, please give us just a quick synopsis!

When I wanted to improve my physique and overall energy, I created a 20-minute workout to complete at the beginning of each day. I set a goal to complete the workout each day for a month. My incentive (rather self-serving, I must say) was to take a photo after each workout so I could see my improvement. After the full month, my self-esteem and my overall motivation boosted dramatically. Admittedly, since my original goal was only for a month, I have wavered on completing my workouts. I would like to hear thoughts on how to follow-up with creating achievable habits.

Which (if any) relevant guest speaker(s) could you contact to speak at a future meetup with whom you already have a personal relationship?

I am really excited to hear from upcoming guest speaker Charles Duhigg. Jim Collins is another author (and former magazine editor) who could bring some valuable business habit insight. Robert Cialdini would bring perspective on behavioral economics and personal persuasive techniques

Which specific host locations (if any) could you contact to host/sponsor a future meetup?

Introduction

Hi, my name is Kevin and I'm a journalist in the Bay Area. In a serendipitous incident, I found your meetup group while contemplating how to create systems of self-improvement. I would love to hear about what approaches others are taking.
