Spaceblimp Workday
Spaceblimp is an educational and exploratory stratospheric balloon project that lofts various payloads to near-space (about 100,000ft, see photo above from the sixth launch). Whether you just want to join us, see what the project is about and help out, or already have a payload idea you'd like to develop and launch, or are an educator looking to bring cool projects to area schools, come join us! Spaceblimp 7 is a collaboration between HacDC hackerspace, Rockville RSC Makerspace and Unallocated Space in Severn, MD. This will be a joint meeting at HacDC. HacDC Spaceblimp coordinators: Enrique, (technical), Nancy, (logistics & outreach). At this meeting we'll be assembling and testing various payloads including primary and backup GPS/radio trackers, still and video cameras, gyroscopic stabilizer, wikipedia payload, etc, whatever people bring by to work on. You might bring a laptop to look up specs, wiring diagrams, etc, and some cash if you'd like to chip in for pizza. HacDC is inside St. Stephen's church at 1525 Newton St NW, Washington DC 20010. Parking on weekends is allowed on Newton, Meridian and 16th Streets. The nearest metro stop is Columbia Heights.

Use your brain again!

We are a hacker space located in Washington, DC. HacDC members improve the world by creatively rethinking technology. We break, build, and occasionally abuse technology in the pursuit of greater knowledge about how it works and repurposing it to build new things. Our shop is located in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of DC. Visit our site at for more details.
