Goal - To collaboratively explore big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. We'll delve in to the ways that these exciting technologies are shaping the future and how we can all apply these insights practically. Lets work together to demystify Map-Reduce, Bayesian Inference, Neural Models, and many more!
Time - Once per week. First meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 26th at 8:00 pm
Location - Hack Reactor at 944 Market St. (Market and 5th), 8th floor.
What to bring - Laptop if you would like to following along and code on your own machine.
By popular demand, we are moving to a new and more interactive format. Last week @mracus introduced the group to genetic algorithms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_algorithm) and then we broke up into groups and started coding our own genetic algorithm solutions to the n-queens problem (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight_queens_puzzle).
This week we will start with a recap on genetic algorithms, followed by a special talk on the Data Science Life Cycle by Bill Shelton.
It's going to be an exciting one!
Looking for guest speakers!
If you, or someone you know would be a good guest speaker for a future meeting of our club, please let us know!
