London Ajax User Group March Meetup

Schedule:
18:00: Meet & Greet

18:30: A model-centric JavaScript application architecture

20:00: Pub

About the speaker:

Steve James, CTO, GenieConnect

Steve is a passionate technologist who thrives on technical challenges and delights in new technologies, including the latest cloud facilities and development techniques. Prior to joining GenieConnect he successfully ran an e-commerce software business handling over £4m of online orders each year and has 20 years experience in building large-scale software solutions.

About the talk:

GenieConnect has, over the years, developed a model-centric Javascript framework for building Single-Page web applications. Built on top of Dojo, the framework extends Dojo's core concept of a "store" with a handful of useful OO design patterns whilst at the same time tightly coupling the concept of a "view" to that of a "model" or class.

Used in conjunction with a number of view-agnostic application controllers (nav controller, security controller, etc) and a number of model-agnostic UX components, the architecture allows for the rapid development of highly interactive web applications.

The aim of this discussion is to explore the architecture, its usefulness and its drawbacks.

Hi we are needing a SASS guru to produce a new skin to our site. The vendor that we had lined up has proved unreliable and and we need something fast. Can anyone recommend someone? I'm in the Innovation Warehouse today and then will be moving to Old St.

    Regards
