Hallyuwood Film Club: Food Inc. (USA, 2008)

Welcome to the Hallyuwood Film Club!

Our next movie features our 3rd "Big Issue" movie Food, Inc. For most of us, the ideal meal is fast, cheap, and tasty. Food, Inc. examines the costs of putting value and convenience over nutrition and environmental impact. Director Robert Kenner explores the subject from all angles as he takes his camera into slaughterhouses and factory farms where chickens grow too fast to walk properly, cows eat feed pumped with toxic chemicals, and illegal immigrants risk life and limb to bring these products to market at an affordable cost. Food, Inc. delivers and gives an unflattering look inside America's corporate controlled food industry.

Food, Inc. lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing how our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. Food, Inc. reveals surprising and often shocking truths about what we eat, how it's produced and who we have become as a nation.

It offered a great opportunity to rethink about food industry seriously. If you want to discuss social issues with other people, this group would be a great option. :)
Even I had a little matter of the traveling time though, it was worth it.
oh, and I think it'd be nicer if we might have a cup of tea somewhere after film!
