What is your favourite kind of photography?

Do you like to get out with other photographers and learn or teach new techniques?

of course, who doesn't like doing that?! I find that it is the only way to learn and pick up stuff you wouldn't otherwise know. Also it beats the crap out of trying to decipher the instruction manual. Tomorrow morning is the second meetup that i am planning to attend and there is only 1 other meetup member who said she is going to. Need to get out my mapquest, no idea where i am going.

What do you want to get out of this group?

Money would be nice but I doubt that will come from a group, I am looking at getting back into newspaper journalism, photography is a huge part of that. I would rather head outside and shoot a bunch of ships instead of staying at home all day. Tomorrow looks like it will be a trip down the QEW towards the city of Niagara Falls. I used to work in the print media there and loved every second of it. It is almost impossible to get bored in NF. This meetup is scheduled for the Niagara Glen Reserve centre. It sound like an Indian name. I don't think it is.

At what skill level would you place yourself at for photography? Beginner, intermediate or advanced?

for sports I am probably as good as it gets, I Have a ton of examples on my Google page at For everything else, I learn as I go. Nature is very tricky to shoot because there is absolutely no way to know what will happen or when. In hockey, it isn't hard to tell where the player with the puck is going to go. It sounds like it is going to be warm tomorrow. Better dress for it. Somebody asked the presenter last night if it's possible to shoot anything with an ISO of under 100. I didn't know either.

My name is Jeff. I am a former Sports Photographer and Editor in the print industry. I heard about this club through a presentation last night at the Stoney Creek branch of the hpl. There were only about 8 people there.
